The State of Our Toastmasters Clubs

Our two clubs are in two extreme states–one is probably the best in the land and the other struggling to stay in existence. We are in a culture of padding results. We don’t and have refused to pad results. Padding defeats one of the purposes of Toastmasters clubs–to market by communicating, be it through the spoken word or the written word. We do so by written web communications and through photos and video.

Many clubs have turned padding into a crutch. They waste an opportunity to learn and master real-world marketing in a compartmentalized and practice environment.

One of the two clubs has also gone hybrid–the only fully-equipped hybrid club in Metro Manila. Others merely have shared laptop access mislead as hybrid.
